Safari

Early morning and late afternoon safaris follow the rhythm of nature, as the sun rises and sets. It’s the ultimate quality time together—filled with surprise, wonder, joy, and learning, free from distraction.

Our guides and trackers, raised in the bush, bring the wilderness to life with encyclopaedic knowledge, heartfelt passion, and an acute sense of responsibility.

Dining

Dining at Tanda Tula is so much more than great food—it’s about bringing your family together to celebrate life and this wild adventure. Every bite and sip are intentionally crafted to nourish and indulge, and all palates and preferences are catered for. We’ll win over even the fussiest eater.

Imagine toasting marshmallows under the stars, enjoying a picnic in the riverbed, or gathering in the traditional Guma for an open-air dinner. By the time you leave, our chef will feel like part of the family—you may even be gifted a favourite recipe to keep the magic alive.

Kids activities

This is the idyllic childhood—spent outdoors, exploring, imagining, and creating. At Tanda Tula, we encourage children to see their environment as a playground (always under careful supervision).

For younger children, days are filled with wonder: they may learn to track animals, make moulds of footprints, spot wildlife from the hide, or craft their own pizza.

Older kids (including adults) have the space to burn energy kicking a ball, swimming in the pool, and discovering new experiences. They’ll have fun, learn, and explore different cultures—becoming well-rounded, confident individuals who embrace the new and unfamiliar with curiosity, imagination and joy.

Afternoons are yours to enjoy: relax on your private deck or plunge pool, or play in the camp pool—ice cream for the kids, cocktails for the parents.

Tanda Tula offers private moments to recharge and reconnect with yourself too. Indulge in a massage, scrub, or body treatment in our Wellness Nest, where expert techniques and luxurious African products are tailored around you for a customised treatment.

Our small yet well-equipped gym provides a cool, air-conditioned space to work out, or simply find a quiet corner to read—on your private deck, your bed, or a peaceful spot in camp. There’s no better feeling than knowing your loved ones are near, safe, and happy, while you take a moment just for you.

Your Accommodation

Each suite at Tanda Tula is positioned to overlook the Nhlaralumi riverbed, with sliding glass doors and canvas walls that flood the interiors with natural light and seamlessly bring the magic of the outside in.

Design reflects the beauty of the bush, with shades and textures inspired by the landscape—deep aubergine, textured wood, and intricate patterns of Tsonga tradition. Contemporary local art and fine linens complete the sense of effortless luxury.

Every suite is fully off-grid, powered by solar energy and equipped with water-wise systems, allowing you to indulge with a clear conscience, knowing you tread lightly on the earth.

Our seven Safari Suites are private sanctuaries featuring a spacious bedroom, en-suite bathroom, and a lounge, with an outdoor deck and private plunge pool ideal for relaxing or taking in the views.

Our two family suites are perfect for families, offering two bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, a shared lounge area, and an outdoor deck with a private plunge pool.

Our whole family (11 of us) 3 generations ages 7-77 went to Tanda Tula for four nights. It was an absolute dream in every way. You are greeted with smiles by people who all have amazing stories to tell, incredible knowledge, will keep you happy and safe and show you a world you've never seen. The rooms are perfection in every detail. I cannot say enough. There are many places that are beautiful and luxurious but this one is different in that it has heart.
