WELCOME TO TANDA TULA.

This has been our home in the Greater Kruger since 1978. What began as a dream became a life rooted in nature, family, and the joy of sharing it all. We are proudly African, co-owned and led by the Scott, Jackson, and Mathebula families. Here, every detail has been thoughtfully curated by hand and heart. In this sacred space in the Timbavati, we offer something deeply personal: a soulful, unhurried safari shaped by purpose, connection, and care.

We’re so glad you’ve found your way here. Our home is yours…

Don & Nina Scott

Your unhurried safari & soulful wilderness immersion

Bordering the mammoth Kruger National Park, the Timbavati is wild, open, and alive.

Here you have the freedom of space to roam, to breathe, and to be still. There’s no distraction and no rush.

Oh, the quiet privilege of sitting longer, feeling deeper, and being fully present. It may be the furthest you’ve ever been from civilisation — and the closest you’ve ever felt to life.

Our guides and trackers are storytellers of the wild — deeply intuitive, endlessly curious, and profoundly skilled.

Among them are two of South Africa’s rare Master Trackers. With sharp eyes, gentle hearts, and decades of experience, they read the land like their home language.

Every game drive offers great gifts:
presence, perspective, and the highest state of being – awe.

This is a place of extraordinary sightings —where the Big 5 are just the beginning.

You might follow a leopard through dry riverbeds, track elephants in golden light, or catch the flick of a cheetah’s tail through tall grass.

From the drama of predator encounters to the stillness of a lilac-breasted roller — every moment holds magic — if you know how to see it.

A safari experience we will never forget
“Ginger and Eric brought us on 8 unbelievable game drives. We can't say enough about how warm, caring and knowledgeable both are. We loved learning from them and they totally meshed with the vibe of our family. We saw the big 5, plus zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, antelopes, warthogs, kudus, hyenas, jackals... To be surrounded by a huge pride of lions hunting a buffalo is indescribable.”

Not just a safari camp but a family
“For me, the welcoming of their guests into their Tanda Tula family was the most special part of all. I cannot wait to return..”

Glorious experience
“It amazes me that they manage to arrange a clearly better breakfast buffet in the bush than the one we had at a five-star hotel in Capetown. And all meals we had were fresh, healthy and very well composed. We were never hungry between meals but when our kids asked for milkshakes they got it within a few minutes, despite it not being on any menu.”

Amazing animals and camp
“We weren’t disappointed ….. the camp was amazing with luxurious spacious room with all you could want …. Plunge pool, outside shower, own bar, kettle for hot drinks as well as wood burning stove for those cold winter nights. ”
