Our scholarship children are currently enjoying their spring holidays after a busy and action-packed school term. From sports fixtures, a primary school production of The Wizard of Oz and the Southern Cross Schools Founders Day, it most certainly has been a busy few weeks.
Our pre-school learners, Sikumbuzo and Jayden, have been hard at work mastering their phonic alphabet and numbers. Next term is an important one for Jayden, as he will be preparing for his start in the primary school in 2020.
In the meantime, he has enjoyed joining me and all the students in the Adult Literacy classes during his holiday. He has proven to be quite an artist when it comes to his water colour masterpieces of his favourite superhero – Superman!
Vutomi and Lesego’s diligence and dedication this term in Grade 3 has most certainly paid off, with notable improvements in mathematics and Afrikaans respectively. They are both spending their holidays at their homes, and Lesego in particular, is enjoying some quality time with her grandmother!
Expect, in Grade 5, has overcome many challenges and under the guidance of his extra tuition teacher he has grown so much and shown huge improvements across the board! His teacher praised him for his quiet determination and willingness to never give up. What incredible qualities that we are so proud of. He is currently spending his holiday at Tanda Tula Safari Camp with his little brother, Brilliant, who missed him terribly while he was away at boarding school.
