On trend. On safari. On food

There has been a very clear and incredible food evolution that has taken place at Tanda Tula Safari Campover the past few years. Chef Ryan and his team continue to push the boundaries, exploring worldwide trends and creating the most inspiring meals.

In this blog, we decided to share some of the most recent mouthwatering dishes that have come out of our kitchen, not just a recipe for one. Hopefully this can inspire our followers to come back and visit us sooner rather than later. We are fully aware the really big draw card to visit Tanda Tula and the Timbavati,is the incredible game viewing, but let’s not underestimate the pull power of a completely memorable meal.

We constantly receive amazing feedback on our food, and even when we see the most gorgeous plates leaving the kitchen, we are in awe of what is being produced. With our generous, laid back bush breakfasts and lunches that are buffet style, it makes sense that in the evening, at our family tables, Ryan and his team want to wow our guests with plates of food that look almost too good to eat. Using as many ingredients as Ryan can source from local suppliers, which helps support our community gardens. He keeps the dishes seasonal with a variety of clever choices. Staying on-trend, Ryan always has a vegetarian option and happily accommodates any dietary requirements, maintaining the greatest food offering.

We still celebrate dinners in the boma with a more traditional South African meal, cooked over open coals and paying homage to a variety of our local cultures. But these plated dinners have become rather special, so, here are a few recent dishes to feast your eyes upon.
