Rodney Malatji has recently joined our maintenance and gardening department. Although Rodney is an old hand at being Mr fix-it, he is new to lodge life. So far, the transition has been wonderful, and he is very happy. He feels extremely fortunate and fulfilled.
Before joining the Tanda Tula Safari Campteam Rodney was a contractor which meant that work was not always available. He would accept jobs he could find with a construction company already doing work in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. This construction business gave him great grounding and instilled a really strong work ethic within him; however he is extremely happy to be employed on a full time basis now. He often speaks about his job here at Tanda Tula with such pride. He works closely with BK, our long time maintenance guru, who has showed him the ropes and helps him by leading the way.
Rodney, also known as Madala (‘old man’, which is funny because he is only 35 ears old) to his peers, has his eye on some serious goals. He wants to learn enough to hopefully become an electrician one day as well as master the art of welding copper. We are extremely excited to have him as part of our team and plan to help him reach these goals and be the best possible version of himself. Welcome to the Tanda Tula family!
