Leopard lazing in tree

Recently, guests of Tanda Tula Safari Camp were fortunate enough to take some fantastic images of a leopard lazing in a tree, whilst a herd of elephants quietly grazed beneath her.

It’s always special when you manage to capture two large species (especially the big five) of this calibre in the same frame. In this instance, the leopard was simply taking a break in a Marula tree, when the elephant herd moved directly below her, completely unaware of her presence.

Guests of Tanda Tula Safari Camp, Caroline Amplatz and her sons Nic and Anton, managed to capture the following images. Ever the opportunists, it is not unusual for leopard to pounce out of trees onto unsuspecting prey below. In the second photo you can see the leopard beautifully framed in the tree. What a special moment!
