Any leopard sighting is special, but witnessing a mother interacting with her cubs is a rare and extraordinary event. Thanks to some expert Land Rover maneuvering on the part of Ranger Civilized, we got to watch Rock Fig Jr and her two young cubs.
The new mother was tucked up against the wall of the river bed, well concealed in the grass as she nursed her two babies. We held our breath as Civilized inched the vehicle along the ledge, angling to give us the best view possible. From this amazing vantage point we watched the cubs feed, bath and play- a rare glimpse into the secret life of leopards.
