The last week or so we have had a young male leopard in and around camp. Last week he managed to tackle a young nyala just off the pathway to Tent 9!
He is around two and half years old and looks to have all the right attributes of becoming a magnificent male in the next couple of years. He has managed to keep a low profile and avoid both the dominant male in the area and his mother who would treat him as an imposter now.
I managed to get some quick photos of him in Don and Nina’s driveway and you can clearly see him standing next to their gate. These photos where all taken on foot so forgive the quality but you can get an idea of how relaxed he was. Looking forward to bringing you more photos of him soon.
