Elephants take a dip
The last month has been an absolute pleasure in the bush. The weather at our safari camp has been absolute bliss and has provided us with some unbelievable African sunsets. There truly is something special about experiencing the romance of an African sunset while sipping on a sundowner, and our guests have enjoyed many such evenings.
The daytime temperatures have varied between 28 Degrees Celsius and 32 Degrees Celsius making it great swimming pool weather. The pool at our safari camp has been thoroughly enjoyed by all our guests!
The heat has spurred the animals to cool off in the shade and wallow in the water and we have been lucky enough to witness the odd swimming session by some of the big five. Not long ago, seven young bull elephants gave us a wonderful show at Makulu (Big) Dam and we were treated to them splashing and swimming across the dam. It appeared as if they were thoroughly enjoying themselves! At one point, a young bull attempted to get a better look at us through the reeds. After a while, we left them to enjoy their afternoon of fun, as they were still having a whale of a time.
