We would all be a little lost without Godes. This colourful character helps so many of us at Tanda Tula in so many different ways that we have all become a little dependent on him. From Tanda Tula Safari Camp to our Hoedspruit town office, Godes is always there to assist us and we are deeply indebted to him.

Godes Dube started at Tanda Tula over nine years ago and has one of the most diverse jobs on the team. His official title is mechanic and driver, but his daily routine is always different and includes so many other tasks. He loves doing any mechanical work, a skill which he learnt as a child from his father. When he is not tinkering behind an engine he will be found behind the wheel, collecting and delivering goods, a very import job in a busy lodge.

When he is not at work Godes is a “church boy” and is happiest at the religious services he attends on Wednesdays and Sundays. Otherwise he hangs out with his four children or friends listening to music and enjoying some down time. Back at Tanda Tula one of the most important parts of his many roles is driving the children who are on scholarships through the Tanda Tula Education Foundation to and from Souther Cross Schools everyday. He has watched many of these kids grow up over the years and says the school trips are filled with chatter and laughter, not to mention some amazing sightings in the Timbavati.
