The Beating Of The Drum

There is something nostalgic and emotive about a drum beat. People from all walks of life always react to the beating of a drum, and nowhere more so than on African soil.

At Tanda Tula we use the drums to let guests know that lunch or dinner is being served. When safari goers hear the deep rooted drum beat, they know that Chef Ryan is about to serve a delicious spread.

This is a long standing tradition at Tanda Tula Safari Camp, bringing strangers together to share a meal and talk of exciting game encounters, what they heard during the night or just to chat to our rangers and trackers about bush experiences. Our staff take turns to show off their drum skills, and here is a short video of Pretty, one of our waitress, happily enjoying this role.
