Our Field Camp Experience

Tanda Tula Field Camp is without doubt the most authentic "stylish camping" experience in South Africa. This exclusive use camp is located in the eastern region of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, bordering the Kruger National Park in a concession of 6500 hectares.

Field Camp is the ultimate premier experience in guided walking safaris where guests are led by iconic and highly trained trackers and guides. Antony Collet heads up Tanda Tula’s mobile camp, with years of safari experience. Specializing in walking trails, he is the perfect man to lead these unforgettable camping trips. Running from 1 March through until the end of September, Field Camp operates during the cooler winter months. A 3 night 4 day experience which moves location after each safari ensures low impact on the environment and a truly sustainable tourism experience.

Antony explains why this experience is so unique and incredibly special: “We touch the earth lightly and in return the bush envelopes us in all it’s beauty, wonder and silence. Exploring on foot, we let our senses guide the way, immersing ourselves in inspiring moments that remind us how truly extraordinary this continent is.”

At Field Camp the atmosphere is that of a bygone era, with all the comforts and luxury combined with a tented experience. This walking safari will not only transform your understanding of spending time in the African bush, but allow you to appreciate that by leaving a small ecological footprint with a camp such as this you will ultimately contribute to sustainable tourism in the Greater Kruger National Park.
